We are incredibly proud that our talented team at The Trillium has been named a finalist at this yearβs National Newspaper Awards.
Charlie Pinkerton, Jack Hauen and Jessica Smith Cross are nominated for the John Wesley Dafoe Award for Politics for their deep-dive reporting on the influence of land developers in Ontario politics.
Congratulations to the team on this well-deserved recognition of their work!
Winners will be announced at a live gala at The Chelsea Hotel in Toronto on Friday, April 26.
BurlingtonToday gets in on the March Break fun βΈοΈ
It was a fun-filled day of family skating at The Appleby Ice Centre over the March Break, where BurlingtonToday hosted a free public skating event for all to enjoy!
Families skated, met some of the BurlingtonToday team and sipped on hot chocolate at the afternoon event.
It was great to see so many smiling faces enjoy the event!
Welcome to our new partner, Harvard Media π
Harvard Media, a Canadian broadcasting and digital media company, has joined our Village network of partners with their recent acquisition of SaskToday.ca and MooseJawToday.com.
Spotted around the Village π
Sudbury.com editor Mark Gentili filled the host's chair on CKLU 96.7 community radio on March 19. He had Sudbury.com assistant editor Heidi Ulrichsen as his guest as part of the radio station's pledge week.
They had an hour-long chat on-air about their careers in community journalism. Heidi is celebrating an impressive 20 years and Mark has an incredible 25 years in the industry.
It was a packed house at a bingo fundraising event at The Irish Harp in Niagara-on-the-Lake, where one of our community partners raised over $3,000 for Red Roof Retreat, a non-profit organization offering recreational and respite services to children, youth and young adults with special needs and their families.
We were proud to be the media sponsor for the event.
