All posts 31 May 2024

🦋 Welcome to the latest edition of Village Bulletin

As we wrap up May, we are excited to share the latest updates, achievements and recent events with you.

Village moves 💫

Welcome to our Village!

This month, we welcomed a number of new people to our Village, including:

StratfordToday editor Matthew Harris

AuroraToday reporter Bailey Moreton

PelhamToday and ThoroldToday reporter Richard Hutton

Village Media marketing and communications specialist Elise Nelson

Welcome all 👏

Our match initiatives raised big bucks for the Alzheimer Society 🫶

The generosity of our readers and community partners helped us to raise $7,300 for the Alzheimer Society Simcoe County. Pictured L-R: Stuart Snelgrove, Gary Assis, Ann-Marie Kungl (Alzheimer Society), John Hammill, Kim Black, Rick Gordon and Nicole Parkes

Village Media’s annual match initiatives bring entire communities together to support non-profit organizations making a positive difference in the cities we serve.

We connect our business partners and readers to 'match' donations and raise much-needed funds for local charities.

From food banks to shelters to mentorship programs, we have raised tens of thousands of dollars for a variety of worthwhile organizations through our match programs.

In May, during a three-day fundraising sprint, we raised $31,100 for local Alzheimer Society chapters across our markets in our most recent match initiative.

A big thank you to our generous business community and readers whose support for these fundraisers makes a real impact in our hometowns.

AuroraToday receives warm welcome at recent launch event

The AuroraToday team was joined by Village Media Central staff and community members for the AuroraToday launch event on May 30, 2024

AuroraToday is now live and has had a busy first week of delivering dedicated news coverage to the Aurora community.

The local team met with readers and community partners at the site’s launch event at the Royal Rose Art Gallery in Aurora on May 30.

Off to a great start, Village Media’s 25th owned and operated site will continue with the groundwork laid by neighbouring sister-site NewmarketToday.

“In-person events are the best kind!” - sales reps from around Village

Our community partnerships teams gathered from across the Village footprint to meet in-person, learn, collaborate, brainstorm and have some fun at the 2024 sales off-site event.
